On the 11th, HYCORE, an AI self-driving personal mobility company (CEO Park Dong-hyun), and the Korean e-sports Industry Association signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at HYCORE's headquarters to collaborate and build the e-sports ecosystem.
This agreement focuses on creating an inclusive e-sports environment where both people with and without disabilities can participate. It also aims to promote the development of the e-sports industry through the joint efforts of both organizations. HYCORE is particularly focused on providing equal participation opportunities for athletes with disabilities, working towards the inclusion of e-sports as a Paralympic event.
The signing ceremony was attended by Park Dong-hyun, CEO of HYCORE, Lee Seong-gyun, CFO, Hwang Min-su, VP, and Professor Song Seok-rok (Kyungdong University), President of the Korean e-sports Industry Association, and Professor Kim Se-yoon (Dankook University). They emphasized that e-sports should offer inclusive opportunities for individuals with disabilities and that it would lead to mutual growth between disability sports and e-sports.
HYCORE, a company that produces AI-based personal mobility solutions, supports various projects related to disability sports, such as sponsoring events organized by the Korea Paralympic Committee and hosting the Korea Wheelchair Mixed Double Curling League, striving to advance disability sports.
Meanwhile, the 4th Korea e-sports Policy Forum, organized by the Korean e-sports Association, will take place on the 15th at BEXCO, Busan. The forum will discuss the theme of "Strategies and Alternatives for e-sports," with a focus on China's attempts to standardize e-sports internationally and the IOC Olympic e-sports Games held in Saudi Arabia.
The forum will include keynote speeches from Professor Song Seok-rok, discussions led by Lee Do-kyung from the office of National Assembly member Kang Yu-jeong, and presentations from IOC Cultural and Olympic Heritage Committee member Yun Kang-ro, exploring ways to respond to the international e-sports environment.
