With the attention on South Korea at an all-time high following its remarkable performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics, another Olympic event, the 17th Paris Paralympics, is set to showcase South Korea’s national pride. One such company with a strong desire to represent the nation is AI mobility company, HYCORE.

HYCORE, the company that developed the world’s first AI-powered electric wheelchair, will enter the stadium alongside South Korea’s delegation during the opening ceremony.

The AI electric wheelchair featured in the opening ceremony is designed with the unique Taeguk pattern of South Korea’s flag on its wheels, making it a focal point of attention. The wheelchair will later be seen throughout Paris, from the Korea House to various sports venues, supporting the South Korean athletes and engaging with global audiences.

HYCORE has already proven its technical expertise by collaborating with major South Korean companies like Hyundai Motor to develop personal mobility solutions. It is also recognized as one of the leading companies in autonomous wheelchairs. This technical excellence has earned HYCORE the opportunity to enter the 2024 Paris Paralympics alongside the South Korean national team.

HYCORE CEO, Park Dong-hyun, who also faces physical challenges as a person with a disability, shared his emotional feelings about participating in this international event: “As someone who experiences mobility challenges, it’s incredibly moving for me to be part of such an event. I hope this serves as an opportunity for all of us to think about and pay attention to the issues of aging and mobility challenges that we will all face one day. Let’s cheer on our South Korean athletes!”

In addition, the AI mobility technology showcased at the 2024 Paris Paralympics will also be featured at the newly expanded section of Incheon International Airport's Terminal 2 by the end of this year, where both able-bodied and disabled individuals will be able to use the autonomous wheelchair. HYCORE, Incheon International Airport, and Hyundai Motor recently signed a memorandum of understanding.

We look forward to seeing HYCORE showcase the excellence of K-Tech to the world and add brilliance to the 2024 Paris Paralympics.
